Song of the Day: The King's Singers "Blackbird"

So today I had a choir craving. I listened to Eric Whitacre, The King Singers and other choirs trying to fill me up with some choir! So I figured that the song of the day should be a choir song. This is The King's Singers singing "Blackbird" which was written by the Beatles.

Excellent choice! Check out the swingle singers sometime! They are really good and do some fun renditions of songs.

My Dusty Desert

Every dune seems to climb higher and higher. The sun gets brighter and brighter. The sand gets hotter and hotter. I stumble down the pillar of sand to find that I would just fall to the ground anyway. As time passes and my nap ends I hear the song. I hear the beautiful sound that breaks my heart and expands my soul and causes my mouth to fall open. It's no where near me but I can hear it. That's what matters. I climb to my feet. First a crawl then a walk then a run. By the end I am frolicking up and down the wave sand mountains towards the beautiful music only to find nothing. The fleeting song tries to leave my mind but jam my finger in my ear to keep it in. Sure I found my way to an oasis. To shelter and eventually out of the desert, but that song, that wonderful song is still in that desert asking for an ear to hear it cry out in sweet melodic joy.
